AX ME SUTN!This is Me!AX ME SUTN!My StoryThe Wifey<3Archive

My life thus far.

My name is Aarón Rodriguez, I was born on May 7th, 1993 in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, México. That would make me 19 years old now in 2012. I live at home and don’t go to school or work just yet. I will be going to school in a couple months, I only took a semester off. As for work, I’ve been looking but not really in depth, so that’s why I don’t have a job, but I REALLY need one to help around with the bills and just to have my own money and be able to spend it on whatever I want and need.

Music has been a big part of my life. I don’t mean LISTENING to music like most people say the LOVE music but aren’t musicians or anything along those lines. (if thats you; STFU you don’t know dick) I have been in Band since I was in 5th grade. I started playing the Trumpet back then and continued doing so up until 8th grade. My last year of Middle School I started getting more into percussion and I played percussion for 2 of the 3 songs we learned for our last concert, since then I’ve been a percussionist and haven’t looked back since.

My Freshman year of High School I was in the PIT for the Marching Band, I played the synthesizer. If you don’t know, the PIT is the most disgusting thing in a Marching Band, unless you’re REALLY REALLY good. Like, DCI status. Most of the time the PIT is not in time with the Marching Band or with the Drum Major so it just sounds like crap. Needless to say, everyone hated me and I was a loser.

Sophomore year I marched Snare Drum alongside my buddy, Nate. Nate was REALLY fuckin’ good and a cool mother fucker. He started teaching me to play Snare the second semester of my Freshman year and even though I sucked a big one, he sticked through and taught me the basics to where I’d be able to march the next year. So yeah, I thought I was the coolest kid because I was marching Snare now. That Drumline season Nate had to quit because he needed to get a job, so I was all alone playing the snare drum!!! Unfortunately, that year wasn’t so hot for us, we ended up going into a Concert Class and competed against only 2 other schools, WEAKSAUCE.

My Junior year I was Center Snare and “Captain” of the Battery; the Battery consists of Marching Percussion: Snare Drums, Quad Drums and Bass Drums. (occasionally a Cymbal Line, but not at my school) That year I really stepped up my game and got a lot better at my instrument, I became obsessed with just being the best at what I did. I would drum everywhere and anywhere, even when the band would take breaks I would hack around and improve my “chops”. We won the Most Improved award and got 1st Place in the Metropolitan Region. I don’t know what we got at State, I wanna say 5th? but IDK. It was a badass season, though and a badass show; Cirque Du Soleil’s La Nouba! That year we recruited a whole bunch of kids from the Band to do Drumline. Our show was called The Box and it was awesome! My first time marching in a gym! I was SO stoked! We had a pretty good Snare Book and the season overall was great, we made it to Finals at State and, again, I don’t remember what we placed but it wasn’t impressive.

SENIOR YEAR!!! Marching Band was the SHIT! Such a good season! The show was called Reflections and our drum instructor rewrote some of the book to make it more showwy and to add notes since the Batter was pretty badass that year. One of my best buds, Luke was playing Snare with me that year and the year prior, but this year we had gotten SO in sync that we sounded like ONE drum playing. We were cocky with it, too. We knew that we were good and we embraced the fuck out of it. We ended up getting Most Improved once again. That means that the year before, we got better and that year we got even BETTER than that. AND we won 1st Place at Regionals once again. It was all peachy up until State, we ALMOST got 3rd place and coulda gotten a bronze medal but we got 4th =( We only lost by one point I think, if that. SO!!! Drumline!!! WAS AMAZING! More than any year before that. We had a BIGASS Drumline that year, 10 people in the pit, 5 Bass Drums, 4 Cymbals, 2 Quads and 4 Snare Drums!!! That’s the biggest Drumline I had seen at our school since my Freshman year when I didn’t do Drumline. AHH! It was orgasmic. Our show, Energy, was sick nasty and our drum instructor rewrote the WHOLE battery book and even added some solos and shit. But sadly we didn’t make it to finals at State =( But no set of judges or numbers could tell us that the season wasn’t awesome and that we didn’t have a lot of fun with it. I performed the fuck out of that show throughout the season, making faces, adding body movement and character to my playing. I had a lot of fun that year, and my LAST performance of my High School years was a week or so after State, in front of the WHOLE school at an assembly. WE ROCKED IT! and everyone loved it, the whole crowd went wild when we were done and I got chills all across my back. After that everyone kept coming up to me and telling me it was awesome and that I was a cool cat and all that, ya know? Shit was awesome! I love attention haha.

So yeah, that’s what I mean by I love music. It’s my passion, and no one can take that from me. I will continue with this passion and see where it takes me. Maybe I’ll be a well-known name someday, we’ll see.

Doubt anyone is going to read this whole thing, but that’s all I’m gonna put on here. Music is my life, that’s the only thing that really deserves to be in my About Me.

When words fail, music speaks…
